When I was young (cartoon network age, well I still watch cartoons but you get the idea)… I was so hooked up in front of the TV watching sci-fi. And in every sci-fi movie, cartoon or story there were cars and planes flying at a super high speed. And I never questioned the possibilities of it happening in our world… Never questioned how are they flying at such high speeds. Somewhere I always knew… I knew that they run on energy and that was enough for me 😀
But then I grew up. The idea of fast cars and planes still excited me but this time I knew that it is far in the future. We do not have any sustainable energy source that is clean and easily available. In those times the idea of running cars using batteries was considered futuristic and sci-fi. Batteries that we knew back then was nowhere near to power the entire car.
Then one day I heard the word “Tesla”.
I heard it in a bad way. I heard in a way that this company is not gonna survive. This company is going down, its share price plummeted by so and so. The idea is ahead of its time and it’s doomed to fail… and on and on…
I so wanted to see it as a success.
I knew it already that renewable clean energy is the only way to sustain ourselves on this planet. And I was right.
Well, Martin Eberhard, Marc Tarpenning and Elon Musk were in the driving seat. I was just a mere spectator with a strong sense of belief that they will succeed. I was so much into that idea that if I would have been a billionaire, I would have invested a fortune in that company.
Finally, someone is doing a great thing for the entire world after Nicole Tesla. It shouldn’t end like Nicole Tesla. And it didn’t.
The legacy has been made.
Musk not only created a company that made a believer out of everyone… but it also started a ripple.
After this feat, we saw a large number of automobile companies that started making electric vehicles. Things are moving so fast now that within 5 years we would see more than 30% of the cars running on batteries. No kidding.
Recently mercedes has announced its e-class… and gawd it’s so alluring.
This is growing at an exponential rate.
And India, being the leader in the free energy space is a happening place to be. You have an idea, propose then this is the best time to propose it to the government and you shall get the funding. It’s the high time.
Not only this is a great opportunity for the manufacturers of electric cars and products, but it is also a great opportunity for developers who are going to build software systems that will drive those big companies future.
Woah… such a great time to be alive.
